Chairman of the Laws, Rules and Government Services Committee, Jonathan R. Heppner, and Deputy Chair Kevin A. Roberts offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to Sections C-25 (A) of the Ulster County Charter and Section A3-4 (A) of the Administrative Code, the County Executive has the power and duty to appoint department heads; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to Section C-100 of the Ulster County Charter and Section   A30-1(A) of the Administrative Code: “There shall be a Commission of Human Rights headed by a Commissioner of Human Rights who shall be appointed by the County Executive, subject to confirmation of the Legislature, and serve at his or her pleasure,” and

 

WHEREAS, the County Executive has appointed Joe McDonald as the Ulster County Commissioner of Human Rights; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, the Ulster County Legislature hereby confirms the appointment of Joe McDonald as the Ulster County Commissioner of Human Rights,

 

and moves its adoption.
