Chairwoman of the Public Works, Capital Projects and Transportation Committee, Laura Petit, and Deputy Chair Dean Fabiano offer the following:

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Public Transportation; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Transportation was previously awarded the following Mass Transportation Capital Project Grants for Fiscal Years 2020-2022:

1.    

Mass Transportation Project NY-2021-068-00, Section 5307, two (2)     35’buses

2.    

Mass Transportation Project TC-20-ULS-00, Public Modernization Enhancement and Improvement Grant (PIN#s 8TU0.01.00, 8TU0.06.001, 8TU0.07.001)

3.    

Mass Transportation Project TC-21-ULS-00, Public Modernization Enhancement and Improvement Grant (PIN#s 8TU0.02.00, 8TU0.12.001)

4.    

Mass Transportation Project TC-22-ULS-00, Public Modernization Enhancement and Improvement Grant (PIN#8TU0.12.001)

5.    

Accelerated Transit Capital ATC-20-ULS-00 received for Support Equipment for Bus/Bus Facility (PIN# 8T0U.08.001).

6.    

Accelerated Transit Capital ATC-21-ULS-00 received for Bus Facility Maintenance/Rehab (PIN# 8TU0.11.001).

7.    

Accelerated Transit Capital ATC-22-ULS-00 received to offset 10% local Ulster County share (PIN#8TRU.79.001), and Bus Support Equipment-fully funded (8TU0.15.001); and

WHEREAS, Federal grant NY-2021-068-00 is funded at a rate of 80% Federal, 10% New York State Share and 10% local share; and

WHEREAS, these NYSDOT grants are funded at a rate of 100% State financing, and

WHEREAS, the Accelerated Transit Capital 10% local offset had a Federal share and the local share of these projects were previously administered and expended; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Transportation has received notification that the New York State share is available; now, therefore be it

RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute an agreement (Contract K007403, Attachment #1 to Schedule A) and any amendments thereto, with the New York State Department of Transportation in order to accept the New York State Share for Federal Fiscal Years 2020-2022 Mass Transportation Capital Projects, in the total amount of $3,018,130.00, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature, or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney,        

and moves its adoption.
