Chairman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Thomas J. Briggs,

Deputy Chairman Ronald G. Lapp, Jr., and Legislator Wawro offer the following:

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Sheriff is requesting that $8,500.00 in funds be

appropriated from URGENT Forfeitures Reserves to fund the purchase of a new K-9

that will provide the URGENT division an integral asset in processing drug

investigations and are only to be used for the benefit of investigating drug and gang

criminal activity; and

WHEREAS, these funds have been received as proceeds from URGENT cases

only and do not include any County dollars; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the 2017 Ulster County Budget is hereby amended as

follows:

INCREASE AMOUNT

AA-0890-5813 Forfeiture of Crime Proceeds $8,500.00

and move its adoption.
