Chairman of the Public Health and Social Services Committee, Craig V. Lopez, and

Deputy Chairman Jeanette Provenzano offer the following:

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on

behalf of the Department of Social Services; and

WHEREAS, the Commissioner of the Department of Social Services is

requesting that the Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature be authorized to

execute an agreement with the SUNY Albany School of Social Welfare for the

continuation of the Masters in Social Work Internship Program; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Social Services, through its Coordinated

Children’s Services Program, provides internship opportunities for the Masters of

Social Works students that benefit both the students and the Department in that the

students receive valuable experience and supervision in a clinical setting and the

Department receives the services of the interns at no cost; and

WHEREAS, there is no financial impact to the County to permit the

continuation of the internships; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby

authorized to execute an agreement, and any amendments thereto, with SUNY

Albany School of Social Welfare for the continuation of the Masters in Social Work

Internship Program, in the form filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature

or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney,

and move its adoption.
