Chairman of the Economic Development, Tourism, Housing, Planning and Transit

Committee, Thomas J. Briggs, and Deputy Chairman James F. Maloney offer the

following:

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on

behalf of the Department of Information Services; and

WHEREAS, it is estimated that changing the County’s telephone system to

voice over internet protocol (VOIP) from the current Centrex service will allow the

County to save over $150,000 annually; and

WHEREAS, the project expenditures in the amount of $1,228,199.00 for the

implementation of VOIP Phone System were approved in the 2014 – 2019 Capital

Program; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Information Services requests that Capital Project

No. 413, Voice Over IP Phone System Implementation, be established and funded;

and

WHEREAS, the cost to purchase the necessary hardware and software is

$671,959; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that Capital Project No. 413 Voice over IP Phone System

Implementation is hereby established; and, be it further

RESOLVED, that the 2014 Ulster County Capital Fund is hereby amended as

follows:
