Chairman of the Economic Development, Tourism, Housing, Planning and Transit

Committee, Thomas J. Briggs, and Deputy Chairman James F. Maloney offer the

following:

 WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on

behalf of the Department of Employment and Training; and

WHEREAS, Sections A3-4 (Y) and A2-6 (A)(3) of the Administration

Code provide that the Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature can, upon

approval of the Ulster County Legislature, enter into an inter-municipal

agreement on behalf of the County of Ulster; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to General Municipal Law, Section 119-n(a), the

definition of a municipal corporation includes a board of cooperative educational

services; and

WHEREAS, the Director of the Department of Employment and Training

requests that the Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature be authorized to execute

an inter-municipal agreement with the Ulster County Board Of Cooperative

Educational Services (BOCES) in the amount of $4,800.00 for the provision of

computer skills education at the Ulster Works OneStop Center, for the term of April

1, 2014 through August 31, 2014; and

WHEREAS, computer skills education will be provided to up to 130 Ulster

Works OneStop customers, to provide them occupational skills and assist them in

their employment search efforts; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby

authorized to execute an agreement, and any amendments thereto, with Ulster County

BOCES in the amount of $4,800.00, to provide computer skills education to

customers of the Ulster Works OneStop Center for the period beginning April 1, 2014

and ending August 31, 2014, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County

Legislature or modified with the approval of the County Attorney;
