Chair of the Legislature, Peter J. Criswell, offers the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of Ulster County Area Transit (UCAT); and

 

WHEREAS, the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Urbanized Area Formula Funding program for 5307 funds is a formula grant which makes federal resources available to recipients for transit capital and operating assistance and transportation-related planning in urbanized areas; and

 

WHEREAS, Ulster County Area Transit (UCAT) is a designated recipient of FTA 5307 funding and annually receives Urbanized Area Formula Program assistance in the form of 5307 funds; and

 

WHEREAS, funding from this grant would enable UCAT initiate the design, site selection, and facility analysis necessary to commence the development of a new storage facility to support UCAT’s electric vehicle fleet; and

 

WHEREAS, the total cost of $676,343.00 will be borne up to the following:  Federal Share ($541,075.00), New York State DOT Share ($67,634.00) and Ulster County Share ($67,634.00); now, therefore be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Ulster County Legislature hereby supports the grant application to the FTA for 5307 Funds; and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to execute any required applications or agreements, and any amendments to any documents, to accept the funding agreement with the FTA,

 

and move its adoption.
