Chairman of the Energy, Environment and Sustainability Committee, Chris Hewitt, Deputy Chair Richard Walls, and Legislators Corcoran and McCollough offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Finance, Division of Recovery and Resilience; and

 

          WHEREAS, the Ulster County Legislature passed Resolution No. 78 of 2023 establishing and funding Capital Project Number 659, subsequently renumbered to Capital Project Number 674, in the amount of two million five hundred thousand dollars ($2,500,000.00) to establish a program to partner with Ulster County municipalities and match up to 50% of the net cost of each solar infrastructure or EV charging project. with a maximum contribution of $100,000.00 per project; and

         

WHEREAS, the County and the City of Kingston (the “City”) desire to enter into an Intermunicipal Agreement (IMA) where the City will be a recipient of Forty Thousand Dollars ($40,000.00) of Ulster County funds; and

 

          WHEREAS the City will be responsible under the IMA for administering a program to install solar panels at Hasbrouck Park; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute the Intermunicipal Agreement with the City of Kingston to partially fund the installation of solar panels at Hasbrouck Park in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney,    

 

and moves its adoption.
