Chairman of the Laws, Rules and Government Services Committee, Jason Kovacs, and Deputy Chair Aaron Levine offer the following:

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Board of Elections; and

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Board of Elections received a 2024 General Election Grant in the amount of $55,216.00 to cover the unbudgeted expenses incurred during the administration of 2024 Elections; and

WHEREAS, The New York State Board of Elections will administer this grant and the term of this grant program will be 04/01/2024 to 03/31/2025; and

WHEREAS, in 2024 the Ulster County Board of Elections will experience exceptional voter turnout during a busy Presidential Election year and even with the best planning will expend funds to administrate the election in program some areas not previously budgeted for; now, therefore be it 

RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to sign a grant agreement in the amount of $55,216.00 with the NYS Board of Elections to obtain 2024 General Election Grant Program funds to offset eligible expenses, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature, or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney,        

and moves its adoption.
