Chairman of the Health, Human Services and Housing Committee, Abe Uchitelle, and Deputy Chair Craig V. Lopez offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Health; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Health recognizes that fieldwork by local college students offer mutual benefits to the college, its students, and the residents of Ulster County; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Health, in agreement with the SUNY Cortland, desires to serve as a site for fieldwork assignment at no cost to the County; and

 

WHEREAS, New York State’s General Municipal Law Article 5-G, and Section A3-4 (Y) of the Ulster County Administrative Code provide that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature, upon approval of the County Legislature, can enter into an intermunicipal agreement on behalf of the County of Ulster; and

 

WHEREAS, the Acting Public Health Director of the Department of Health requests that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature be authorized to execute an intermunicipal agreement with SUNY Cortland for fieldwork assignment at the Department of Health; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute an intermunicipal agreement, and any amendments thereto, with SUNY Cortland for a fieldwork assignment at the Department of Health, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney,

 

and move its adoption.
