Chairman of the ARPA Special Committee, Thomas Corcoran, Jr., Deputy Chair Megan Sperry, and Legislator Joe Maloney offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Finance, Division of Recovery and Resilience; and

 

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Legislature passed Resolution No. 96.1 of 2022 amending and funding capital project Number 604 in the amount of five million dollars ($5,000,000) to create a program to partner with Ulster County municipalities and match up to 33% of water and sewer projects with a maximum contribution of $500,000.00 per project; and

 

WHEREAS, the County and the Village of Saugerties (the “Village”) desire to enter into an Intermunicipal Agreement (IMA) where the Village will be a subrecipient of Three Hundred and Ninety-Six Thousand and 00/100 ($396,000.00) dollars of American Rescue Plan Act – Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF); and

 

WHEREAS the Village will be responsible under the IMA for administering a program to replace and improve to ageing infrastructure at the Ripley Street and East Bridge Street pump stations and at the wastewater treatment facility on Dock Street; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute the Inter Municipal Agreement with the Village of Saugerties to fund improvement to the Village’s wastewater treatment system in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney,

 

and moves its adoption.
