Chairwoman of the Public Works, Capital Projects and Transportation Committee, Laura Petit, and Deputy Chair Dean J. Fabiano offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Public Works; and

 

WHEREAS, the Galeville Bridge (BIN 3347430) which carries Galeville Road (County Road 19) over the Wallkill River in the Town of Shawangunk is a two span steel Warren thru truss with each truss spanning 150’ for a total bridge length of over 300’ over the Wallkill River; and

 

WHEREAS, Capital Project No. 628 was established pursuant to Resolution No. 179 dated April 18, 2022 in the amount of $110,000.00 for the design phase; and

 

WHEREAS, the 2023 – 2028 Capital Program includes a project for the replacement of the Galeville Bridge in the amount of $4,500,000.00 and it is now necessary to amend the Capital Program to fund the replacement of the bridge; and

         

          WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Works requests funds for construction services and construction inspection services for the Project in the amount of $5,800,315.00 for a total project cost of $5,910,315.00; and

 

          WHEREAS, based upon examination by the Ulster County Legislature, the County’s funding of this Project constitutes a Type II action as defined under Sections 4.5.5 of the County of Ulster’s State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) Type II List, which was adopted pursuant to Resolution No. 118 dated April 20, 2010, and

 

          WHEREAS, Ulster County has determined that this funding action does not pose a significant potential environmental impact and may be progressed as a Type II action in accordance with 6 NYCRR Part 617 of SEQRA, and does not require any further determination or procedure under SEQRA; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the 2023-2028 Ulster County Capital Improvement Program is amended as follows:
