Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Gina Hansut, Deputy Chair Chris Hewitt offer the following:

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the Ulster County Sheriff; and

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office has drafted a new Inter-Municipal Agreement (IMA) for inter-municipal cooperation with the County of Orange Sheriff’s Office, to be executed by the Legislative Chair; and

WHEREAS, this resolution is requesting the Chair to authorize the acceptance and signature of the Agreement for U.S.E.R.T.; and

WHEREAS, there is no funding required for this IMA; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to sign an agreement, and any amendments thereto, with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office to provide a formal relationship between U.S.E.R.T and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney,

and moves its adoption.
