Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Gina Hansut, Deputy Chair Chris Hewitt offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of Department of Emergency Services; and

 

WHEREAS, the City of Kingston Fire Department operates a Hazardous Materials Rope Rescue Response Team with trained personnel and specialized equipment that has been responding to incidents under prior contracts with Ulster County and has an established working relationship with the local volunteer fire departments operating at these incidents; and  

 

          WHEREAS, the County Executive is requesting the Chair of the Legislature be authorized to authorized to enter into a (5) year agreement with the City of Kingston, beginning January 1, 2023 to provide Special Operation Response to Ulster County for $125,000.00 ($25,000.00 annually for a period of five years); now, therefore, be it

 

           RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Legislature is hereby authorized to execute a five (5) year agreement with the City of Kingston, beginning January 1, 2023 to provide Special Operations Response to Ulster County for $125,000.00 ($25,000.00 annually for a period of five years), in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney and Legislative Counsel,        

 

and moves its adoption.
