Chairwoman of the Public Works, Capital Projects and Transportation Committee, Laura Petit, and Deputy Chair Dean Fabiano offer the following:
WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Mental Health and the Department of Public Works; and
WHEREAS, Access: Supports For Living Inc. (“Access”) is a domestic not-for-profit corporation which has supported the families and communities of the Hudson Valley by providing services for people facing the challenges of disability and mental illness for over 50 years; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Mental Health has identified the second and third floors of the County-owned building located at 368 Broadway in Kingston to be used for essential behavioral health services including clinical, mobile mental health, integrated primary care, peer services and for providers primary in the field; and
WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Works has requested authorization for the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature to enter into a lease agreement with Access, which shall allow Access to lease 3,398 square feet of office space at 368 Broadway for a five-year term beginning August 1, 2023, and ending July 31, 2028 at a cost of $11.00/square foot, totaling $37,378.00 for the first year of said lease; and
WHEREAS, the County of Ulster shall have the option to terminate the lease for any reason or for no reason, upon sixty (60) days written notice; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to enter into a lease agreement with Access: Supports For Living Inc., for office space at 368 Broadway, Kingston New York, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified with approval by the County Attorney,
and move its adoption.
