Chairman of the ARPA Special Committee, Peter J. Criswell, and Deputy Chair Thomas Corcoran, Jr. offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Finance, Division of Recovery and Resilience; and

 

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Legislature passed Resolution No. 96.1 amending and funding Capital Project No. 604 in the amount of $5,000,000 to create a program to partner with Ulster County municipalities and match up to 33% of water and sewer projects with a maximum contribution of $500,000 per project; and

 

WHEREAS, the County and the Town of Saugerties (the “Town”) desire to enter into an Intermunicipal Agreement (IMA) where the Town will be a subrecipient of $364,297.00 of American Rescue Plan Act – Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF); and

 

WHEREAS, the Town will be responsible under the IMA for administering a program to complete the extension of the Kings Highway Water and Sewer System to include 14 new users and the Mt. Marion Fire Department; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute the Intermunicipal Agreement with the Town of Saugerties to partially fund the extension of the existing water and sewer system in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney,

 

and move its adoption.
