Deputy Majority Leader, Abe Uchitelle, offers the following:

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 11 of 2022, adopted on March 21, 2023, the Ulster County Legislature requested that the New York State Legislature enact legislation amending New York State Tax Law Section 1202-l, increasing the Hotel & Motel Occupancy Tax rate to four (4) percent; and

     

WHEREAS, such legislation has now been introduced as Senate Bill No. S6896 and Assembly Bill No. A7200 so that a formal Home Rule Request is now appropriate; now, therefore be it

 

RESOLVED, that the County Executive and the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature be authorized to execute and submit a Home Rule Request (Request by a Local Government for Enactment of a Special Law), pursuant to Article IX of the Constitution, requesting the enactment of Senate Bill No. S6896 and Assembly Bill No. A7200 entitled “An act to amend the tax law, in relation to hotel and motel taxes in Ulster county,”

 

and move its adoption.
