Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Lynn Eckert, and Deputy Chair Kenneth Ronk, Jr.  offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been offered by the Acting County Executive on behalf of the Ulster County Sheriff; and 

 

WHEREAS, the Body Camera project will upgrade the current Body Camera system and add additional units to outfit Corrections and Criminal Officers in the line of duty; and  

 

WHEREAS, the approved 2019-2024 Capital Improvement Program includes a project “Body Cameras” in the amount of $225,000.00; and 

 

 WHEREAS, the reliability of camera footage in litigation proceedings is on a growing swing as verifiable proof, which has in turn lowered litigation expenses, there has been great success with the system we currently have. After testing other products we have found the specific units to purchase, which will be reimbursed by the NYS Attorney General up to $69,776 in consideration of the 25% match included with the terms of acceptance; now, therefore be it  

 

RESOLVED, that the 2019-2024 Ulster County Capital Improvement Program is hereby amended to increase the project ‘Body Cameras’ from $225,000 to $320,826, an increase of $95,826; and, be it further 

 

RESOLVED, that Capital Project 535 - Body Camera Purchase is hereby established in the amount of $320,826.00, which consists of a new server for the data to be stored, 120 body cameras and 21 helmet cameras, with all the software and hardware needed for this system, plus an additional 10% for unforeseen expenses; and, be it further 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

RESOLVED, that the 2019 Ulster County Capital Fund Budget is hereby amended as follows:
