Chairman of the Legislative Programs, Education and Community Services Committee, James Delaune, and Deputy Chair Heidi Haynes, offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, the resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on behalf of the Ulster County Community College (“UCCC”); and

 

WHEREAS, Resolution No. 441 of 2016 established Capital Project No. 486 Window Replacement Project and amended the 2016-2021 Capital Improvement Program to add such project and fund such project in the amount of $668,000.00; and

 

WHEREAS, the Resolution No. 259 of 2018 authorized the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature to enter into an agreement with the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (“DASNY”) for project management services; and

 

WHEREAS, the Resolution No. 107 of 2019 approved the Work Order with DASNY in the amount of $600,400.00 (inclusive of DASNY fee of $74,300.00) for Phase-1 of Window Replacement Project Jacob Hardenbergh Hall; and

 

WHEREAS, the Phase-1 Window Replacement plan included the replacement of half of the windows in Hardenbergh Hall; and

 

WHEREAS, due to the poor condition of the windows in the Hardenbergh Hall and the necessary hazardous materials abatement project, it is now recommended that UCCC replace all windows within Hardenbergh Hall; and

 

WHEREAS, due to this increase in scope and necessary hazardous materials abatement, it is necessary to increase such total project funding to $1,120,000.00, an increase of $452,000.00; and

 

 

 

 

WHEREAS, SUNY Ulster Board of Trustees approved the Work Order with the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (Capital Project: Window Replacement Project) via resolution #19-08-159; and

 

WHEREAS, such Work Order totals $519,600.00 (inclusive of DASNY Fee of $33,000.00) for such project, which will be divided as follows: $259,800.00 State and $259,800.00 Ulster County; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, the Ulster County Legislature hereby approves the execution of Work Order No. 2019-001A – Window Replacement Project with DASNY for the provision of providing design management services of a DASNY term consultant for design services and use DASNY staff to manage construction for the increased scope of Window Replacement project for Jacob Hardenbergh Hall; and, be it further,

 

RESOLVED, that the 2019 Ulster County Capital Fund Budget is hereby amended as follows:
