Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Lynn Eckert, and Deputy Chair Kenneth Ronk, Jr. offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on behalf of the Ulster County Department of Emergency Communications/Emergency Management; and

 

            WHEREAS, the Director of Emergency Communications/Emergency Management requests that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature be authorized to enter into an agreement with the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services for the period beginning September 1, 2019 and ending August 31, 2022, in the amount of $269,921.00; and         

 

WHEREAS, these funds are part of the FY19 State Homeland Security Program (“SHSP”); and

 

WHEREAS, this funding originates from the United States Department of Homeland Security and passes through New York State via the SHSP; and

 

WHEREAS, the State Homeland Security Program supports planning, equipment, training, and exercise needs associated with preparedness and prevention activities for terrorist events using weapons of mass destruction involving biological, nuclear, incendiary, chemical, explosive and radiological materials, and

 

            WHEREAS, no matching County dollars are required; now, therefore be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement and any related amendments with the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services for the period beginning September 1, 2019 and ending August 31, 2022, in the amount of $269,921.00, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney; and be it further

 

 

 

 

RESOLVED, that the 2019 Ulster County budget is hereby amended as follows:
