Chairwoman of the Public Works and Capital Projects Committee, Laura Petit, and Deputy Chair Dean J. Fabiano offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Public Works; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 379 of August 16, 2016, the Ulster County Legislature established Capital Project No. 483 for the design and engineering work to construct a public safety training facility; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 237 of June 18, 2019, the Ulster County Legislature authorized the necessary funding for the construction of a public safety training facility to be located at 250 Ulster Landing Road in the Town of Ulster (the “Public Safety Training Facility”); and

 

WHEREAS, the Public Safety Training Facility is an important component of SUNY Ulster’s public safety programs; and

 

WHEREAS, SUNY Ulster has provided funding for the project through its capital facilities funding from the New York State Education Department; and

 

WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Works requests that the Chairwoman of the Ulster County Legislature be authorized to enter into a lease with SUNY Ulster (the “Lease”) for the use of and access to the facilities associated with the Public Safety Training Facility at an annual cost of $10.00 for a period of ten (10) years, subject to the successful completion of the Facility, beginning March 2, 2020 and ending March 1, 2030, with an automatic renewal provision for an additional ten (10) years; now, therefore be it

 

 

 

 

 

RESOLVED, that the Chairwoman of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to enter into the Lease and any related amendments with SUNY Ulster, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney,
