Chairman of the Legislative Programs, Education and Community Services Committee, James Delaune, and Deputy Chair Heidi Haynes, offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on behalf of the Ulster County Office for the Aging (“OFA”); and

 

WHEREAS, the New York State Office for the Aging (“NYSOFA”) has notified OFA that it will be receiving recurring funding for the 2019-2020 Unmet Need Grant in the amount of $246,540.00; and

 

WHEREAS, the goal of the Unmet Need Grant is to reduce or eliminate unmet needs of seniors who would not otherwise be able to be independent; and

 

WHEREAS, the term for the Unmet Need Grant program year begins April 1, 2019 and ends March 31, 2020; and

 

WHEREAS, if the County’s application is approved, the funds will be used to reimburse the County for Unmet Need expenditures incurred by the OFA, including: salaries, benefits, contractual costs, and other services; and

 

WHEREAS, the Interim Director of OFA requests the Chairwoman of the Ulster County Legislature be authorized to execute application for the Unmet Need Grant, with required assurances, and any related amendments; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Chairwoman of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute the application for the Unmet Need Grant with required assurances, and any related amendments, with NYSOFA, for the term beginning April 1, 2019 and ending March 31, 2020 in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney
