Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Lynn Eckert, and Deputy Chair Kenneth Ronk, Jr. offer the following:

          WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the Ulster County District Attorney (the “District Attorney”); and

          WHEREAS, effective April 1, 2019, the New York State Legislature increased the annual salary of the Ulster County Court Judge to $210,900.00; and

          WHEREAS, Section 183-A of the New York State Judiciary Law requires the annual salary of the District Attorney to be determined based on a formula using the annual salary of the County Court Judge; and

          WHEREAS, the 2015 Judicial Compensation Commission decided that for counties, including Ulster, whose County Court Judges’ pay was fixed at more than 95% of the Supreme Court Justice Salary the percentage should remain the same and not be reduced to 95%; and

          WHEREAS, it is now necessary to increase the annual salary of the District Attorney from $200,000.00 to $202,800.00, an increase of $2,800.00; now, therefore be it

          RESOLVED, that the annual salary of the Ulster County District Attorney is hereby increased to $202,800.00 pursuant to the requirement of Section 183-A of the New York State Judiciary Law; and, be it further

           RESOLVED, that the 2019 Ulster County Budget is hereby amended as follows:
