Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Lynn Eckert, and Deputy Chair Kenneth Ronk, Jr. offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the Acting County Executive on behalf of the Ulster County Fire Coordinator; and

 

WHEREAS, the Counties of Ulster, Rockland, Orange and Sullivan all operate Fire/Emergency Services departments; and

 

WHEREAS, there are grant funds totaling $142,000.00 from the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services that are only available to regional partnerships; and

 

WHEREAS, as a participant in the proposed regional partnership, Ulster County will receive equipment and services valued at $35,500.00; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute an agreement and any related amendments with the Counties of Rockland, Orange and Sullivan to form a regional partnership for Fire/Emergency Services, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature, or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney, in consultation with Counsel to the County Legislature, Chair of the County Legislature, and the Chair and Deputy Chair of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee,

 

and move its adoption.
