Legislator Kenneth J. Ronk, Jr. offers the following:

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 370 dated October 21, 2014, the Ulster County Legislature established a policy for the naming of county-owned assets; and

 

WHEREAS, the bridge that spans the Rondout Creek on CR 6 located in the historic hamlet of Alligerville, Town of Rochester (County Bridge # 136) is a county-owned asset; and

 

WHEREAS, on December 6, 2018, the Town Board of the Town of Rochester unanimously adopted a resolution requesting that the County of Ulster name the above mentioned bridge after former Ulster County resident Arthur D. Lapp, Sr.; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to the policy for naming of county-owned assets, this matter shall be referred to the Public Works and Capital Projects Committee, and a public hearing shall be scheduled to insure public input on the matter is considered prior to a vote by the full legislative body on a resolution naming the asset; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that a public hearing will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 6:10 PM in the Legislative Chambers, Ulster County Office Building, 6th Floor, 244 Fair Street, Kingston, New York on naming the bridge that spans the Rondout Creek on CR 6 located in the historic hamlet of Alligerville, Town of Rochester the “Arthur D. Lapp, Sr. Bridge;” and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature shall cause a legal notice of said public hearing to be published according to law,

 

and move its adoption.
