Referred to: The Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee (Chairwoman
Maio and Legislators Collins, Eckert, Fabiano, and Haynes), and The Ways and
Means Committee (Chairman Gerentine and Legislators Archer, Bartels, Lopez,
Maio, James Maloney, Joseph Maloney, and Petit)
Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Mary Beth
Maio, and Deputy Chair Julius Collins offer the following:
WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on
behalf of the Ulster County Department of Emergency Communications / Emergency
Management; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Emergency Communications / Emergency
Management has received notification from the New York State Division of
Homeland Security and Emergency Services regarding the 2018-2019 Public Safety
Answering Point (PSAP) Operations Grant; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of this program is to sustain ongoing operations and
improvements of public safety answering points; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Emergency Communications / Emergency
Management requests that the Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature be
authorized to enter into an agreement, and any amendments thereto, with the New
York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services for the contract
period beginning January 1, 2019 and ending December 31, 2019, in the amount of
$141,457.00; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby
authorized to execute an Agreement, and any amendments thereto, with the New
York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services for participation
in the 2018-19 Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) Operations Grant, in the
amount of $141,457.00, as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as
modified with the approval of the County Attorney, Chairman of the Ulster County
Legislat
RESOLVED, that if the funding for this program is eliminated, the program
will be eliminated as well,
and move its adoption.
