Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Mary Beth

Maio, and Deputy Chair Julius Collins offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution is submitted by the County Executive on behalf of

the Department of Public Works; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 66, dated February 17, 2015, the

County extended a lease agreement with the Town of Wawarsing, whereby the

Sheriff’s Office was allowed to maintain a substation in a portion of an airport

terminal building at the Joseph Y. Resnick Airport, Ellenville, NY, occupying

approximately 1,534 square feet of the space at no rental cost; and

WHEREAS, the Town of Wawarsing receives federal funding for the airport

via the FAA Airport Improvement Program, which requires compliance with current

federal grant assurances; and

WHEREAS, current federal grant assurances require all leases at FAA

regulated airports to contain similar terms; and

WHEREAS, all other leases at the Joseph Y. Resnick Airport, Ellenville, NY,

provide for an annual rent based on square footage and provide for a potential annual

indexed rent adjustment; and

WHEREAS the Commissioner of Public Works has requested that the

Legislature approve execution of an amended lease agreement with the Town of

Wawarsing, for the continued use of office space for the Ulster County Sheriff’s

Office substation at the Joseph Y. Resnick Airport terminal building at three hundred

twelve dollars ($312.00) per year, which shall be adjusted annually based on the

Northeast Region Consumer Price Index; now, therefore, be it 

 

RESOLVED, that the Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby

authorized to execute the lease modification, and any amendments thereto, with the

Town of Wawarsing, for the continued use of office space for the Ulster County

Sheriff’s Office substation at the Joseph Y. Resnick Airport terminal building at three

hundred twelve dollars ($312.00) per year, which shall be adjusted annually based on

the Northeast Region Consumer Price Index, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the

Ulster County Legislature,

and moves its adoption.
