Chairman of the Public Works and Capital Projects Committee, Dean J. Fabiano, and

Deputy Chair Manna Jo Greene offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive’s

Office on behalf of the Department of Public Works – Highways & Bridges; and

WHEREAS, the project expenditures in the amount of $400,000.00 for

Rehabilitation of the Donahue Bridge, were approved in the 2018 – 2023 Capital

Program; and

WHEREAS, the Donahue Bridge had improvements made to the structure by

the New York State Department of Transportation as part of a State Route 28 detour;

and

WHEREAS, the Donahue Bridge is in need of additional steel replacement

and partial concrete deck replacement; and

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Department of Public Works intends to

contract with outside contractors for an amount determined to be $236,930.00; and

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Commissioner of Public Works requests that

Capital Project No. 510 be established for rehabilitation of the Donahue Bridge

(County Bridge 160), on County Route #47, over the Esopus Creek in the Town of

Shandaken (BIN# 3347580) in the amount of $236,930.00; and

WHEREAS, based upon examination by the Ulster County Legislature, the

County’s funding of this Project constitutes a Type II action as defined under

Sections 4.5.6 of the County of Ulster’s State Environmental Quality Review Act

(SEQRA) Type II List, which was adopted pursuant to Resolution No. 118 dated

April 20, 2010; and

WHEREAS, Ulster County has determined that this funding action does not

pose a significant potential environmental impact and may be progressed as a Type II

action in accordance with 6 NYCRR Part 617 of SEQRA, and does not require any

further determination or procedure under SEQRA; now, therefore be it 

 

RESOLVED, that Capital Project No. 510 – Rehabilitation of the Donahue

Bridge is hereby established as follows:

Capital Project No. 510 Donahue Bridge $236,930.00

and, be it further

 RESOLVED, that the 2018 Ulster County Capital Fund Budget is hereby

amended as follows:

 INCREASE AMOUNT

HH.5197.0510-2300.2550 Other Equipment & $236,930.00
