Chairman of the Public Works and Capital Projects Committee, Dean J. Fabiano, and

Deputy Chairman Peter M. Loughran offer the following:

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on

behalf of the Department of Public Works; and

 WHEREAS, SUNY Ulster (the “College”) vacated most of its occupancy at

the County’s Business Resource Center (BRC) in mid-August, 2015; and

 WHEREAS, the College subsequently maintained some offices and classroom

capability at the BRC; and

 WHEREAS, the College desires to continue to occupy certain space at the

BRC, and the County has space available at the BRC that meets the needs of the

College; and

 WHEREAS, said space comprises 1,684 square feet and will be leased to the

College for one year, beginning January 1, 2017, at an annual cost of $21,639.40

($12.85 per square foot), including all utilities; and

 WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Works has requested the County of

Ulster to continue leasing 1,684 square feet of office and classroom space at the BRC

to the College, for the period beginning January 1, 2017 and ending December 31,

2017; and

 

RESOLVED, the Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby

authorized to enter into an agreement with SUNY Ulster for the use of 1,684 square

feet of space at the BRC, for a one-year term, with a one-year option to renew, at the

annual rent of $12.85 per square foot ($21,639.40 annually; $1,803.28 monthly), in a

form as filed with the Clerk of the Legislature or as modified with the approval of the

County Attorney,

and moves its adoption.
