Chairman of the Public Works and Capital Projects Committee, Dean J. Fabiano, and

Deputy Chairman Peter M. Loughran offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on

behalf of the Department of Public Works; and

WHEREAS, Ulster County is willing to continue performing maintenance of

certain roads around New York City Reservoirs located in Ulster County for the New

York City Department of Environmental Protection; and

WHEREAS, the prior agreement (UC #C09-00722) expired on June 30, 2015,

but was extended through June 29, 2016 by Amendment No. 2 to the agreement, said

Amendment having been authorized by Resolution No. 217, dated May 16, 2017; and

WHEREAS, the Contract has a not-to-exceed amount of $1,500,000.00 to

reimburse the County over the five-year term of the agreement; and

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Department of Public Works has the

equipment and manpower necessary to accommodate the Contract obligations; now,

therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby

authorized to execute an inter-municipal agreement, and any amendments thereto,

with the New York City Department of Environmental Protection, to allow DPW to

continue road maintenance on New York City roads around the Ashokan Reservoir,

for the period of October 1, 2016 through September 30, 2021, in the form as filed

with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified and approved by the

County Attorney,

and move its adoption.
