Roberts and Legislators Belfiglio, Donaldson, Lopez, Loughran, R. Parete and

Rodriguez), and The Ways and Means Committee (Chairman Gerentine and

Legislators Allen, Bartels, Belfiglio, Briggs, Maio, and Maloney)

Chairman Kenneth Ronk, Jr. offers the following:

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on

behalf of the Ulster County Department of Public Transportation; and

WHEREAS, Ulster County is a designated recipient of this competitive

funding through the Federal Transit Administration's (FTA) Bus and Bus Facilities

Program (Section 5339 funds) from New York State and the Federal Transit

Administration, and

WHEREAS, UCAT recently received notice of the availability of additional

funding through such program; and

WHEREAS, UCAT must apply for these additional funds by August 25,

2017; and

WHEREAS, funding from the grant would allow UCAT to construct an

additional building to house its fleet; and

WHEREAS, the cost for these improvements will be borne up to the following

ratio: 90% Federal Share ($1,350,000.00), and 10% Ulster County Share

($150,000.00); now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the Ulster County Legislature hereby supports a grant

application to the Federal Transit Administration's Bus and Bus Facilities Program;

and, be it further

RESOLVED, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to execute any

required applications or agreements, and any amendments to any documents, to

accept the funding agreement with the Federal Transit Administration,

and move its adoption.
