Maio, and Maloney)

Chairman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Thomas J. Briggs,

and Deputy Chairman Ronald G. Lapp, Jr. offer the following:

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Sheriff has an existing contract with Oneida

County for the security of Ulster County inmates with psychiatric problems, who are

boarded at the Central New York Psychiatric Center; and

 WHEREAS, the Ulster County Sheriff has need of an alternate location for the

treatment and security of inmates with psychiatric problems in situations in which

Oneida County is not able to accept them; and

 WHEREAS, Monroe County is able to provide such treatment at the

Rochester Psychiatric Center Forensic Unit and, through agreement with the Monroe

County Sheriff’s Office, they will provide the security at a cost of $140.00 per day

per inmate; and

 WHEREAS, the term of the agreement is from January 1, 2016 through

December 31, 2020; now, therefore, be it

 RESOLVED, that the Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby

authorized to enter into an Agreement, and any amendments thereto, with Monroe

County for security of Ulster County inmates boarded out to the Rochester

Psychiatric Center Forensic Unit at a cost of $140.00 per day per inmate for a term

beginning on January 1, 2016 and ending December 31, 2020, in the form as filed

with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified with the approval of

the County Attorney,

and moves its adoption.
