Referred to: The Public Works and Capital Projects Committee (Chairman Fabiano
and Legislators Greene, Litts, Loughran, and Maloney), and The Ways and Means
Committee (Chairman Gerentine and Legislators Allen, Bartels, Belfiglio, Briggs,
Maio, and Maloney)
Chairman of the Public Works and Capital Projects Committee, Dean J. Fabiano, and
Deputy Chairman Peter M. Loughran offer the following:
WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on
behalf of the Department of Public Works; and
WHEREAS, New York State Department of Labor, having executive offices
at West Averell Harriman State Office Campus, Building 12, Albany, New York, is a
New York State department providing labor support services to the workers,
unemployed and job seekers of New York State; and
WHEREAS, the New York State Department of Labor, has been leasing 4,836
square feet of office space from the Ulster County Community College at 1021
Development Court, Kingston, NY; and,
WHEREAS, on September 1, 2015, Ulster County took possession of the
space; and
WHEREAS, the New York State Department of Labor wishes to continue
leasing said office space for an additional two (2) year term commencing September
1, 2015 through August 31, 2017, at the annual cost of $62,868.00, to include all
utilities; and
WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Works has requested the County of
Ulster to continue leasing office space at 1021 Development Court, Kingston, NY to
NYS Department of Labor for a two (2) year term commencing September 1, 2015
through August 31, 2017, at the annual cost of $13.00 per square foot, or $62,868.00,
payable monthly at $5,239.00, to include all utilities; and
WHEREAS, the County of Ulster shall have the option to terminate the
agreement upon ninety days’ notice to the NYS Department of Labor; and

Authorizing The Chairman Of The Ulster County Legislature To

General Services – Real Estate Planning & Development For The
Department of Labor, For Office Space – Department of Public
Works (Buildings and Grounds)
WHEREAS, the Public Works and Capital Projects Committee has met and
reviewed said request with a majority of the members voting approval; and
WHEREAS, the Ways and Means Committee has met and reviewed said
request with a majority of the members voting approval; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, the Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby
authorized to enter into an agreement with the NYS Office of General Services Real
Estate Planning and Development Agency for the continued use of 4,836 square feet
of office space at 1021 Development Court, Kingston, New York for a two (2) year
term commencing September 1, 2015 through August 31, 2017, at the annual cost of
$62,868.00, in a form as filed with the Clerk of the Legislature or as modified with
the approval of the County Attorney,
and moves its adoption.
