Legislators Hector S. Rodriguez, Tracey A. Bartels, Thomas J. Briggs, and Manna Jo

Greene offer the following:

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 394 dated November 18, 2014, the

Ulster County Legislature created the Ulster County Solid Waste Management

Improvement Commission for the purpose of comprehensively reviewing the

technologies, grant funding and host benefits available to newly established solid

waste disposal facilities; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 89 adopted February 16, 2016, the

Commission was granted a 60 day extension to May 1, 2016 to report its findings to

the Ulster County Legislature and the Ulster County Executive; and

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Solid Waste Management Improvement

Commission is to be comprised of twelve (12) members; and

WHEREAS, vacancies exist on the Commission due to the change in

leadership of the Ulster County Legislature, the City of Kingston, and the Ulster

County Resource Recovery Agency; and

WHEREAS, said vacancies must be filled to ensure the Commission meets the

quorum requirement to conduct official business and issue a final report; now,

therefore, be it

 RESOLVED, that the Ulster County Legislature confirms the appointments of

the following individuals as members of the Ulster County Solid Waste Management

Improvement Commission:

(1) the Chair of the Legislature or Legislative member designee- Kenneth Ronk

(2) the Chair of the UCRRA Board of Directors or UCRRA Board of Directors

member designee- Fred Wadnola

(3) the Mayor from the City of Kingston or designee- Julie Noble

and move its adoption.
