Chairman of the Public Works and Capital Projects Committee, Dean J. Fabiano, and

Deputy Chairman Peter M. Loughran offer the following:

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on

behalf of the Department of Public Works; and

WHEREAS, the County Executive is continuing an infrastructure investment

program known as “Building a Better Ulster County” as a commitment to addressing

critical road and bridge improvements at the County level; and

WHEREAS, the approved 2016 – 2021 Capital Improvement Program

includes a project “Slope Analysis & Stabilization” in the amount of $780,000.00;

and

 WHEREAS, five sites on Ulster County roads have eroding or slumping

slopes that are impacting, or close to impacting, the travel lane(s); and

 

 WHEREAS, the Ulster County Commissioner of Public Works requests funds

for geotechnical engineering analysis of the eroded or slope failures and to

implement the necessary repairs; and

WHEREAS, project expenditures in the amount of $780,000.00 for Slope

Analysis and Repairs for five (5) sites, were approved in the 2016 – 2021 Capital

Program; and

WHEREAS, it is now necessary to fund Capital Project No. 475 in the amount

of $780,000.00 for five sites along County roads; and

 WHEREAS, the Ulster County Department of Public Works intends to

contract with an outside agency for the analysis and repairs; now, therefore be it

RESOLVED, that based upon examination by the Ulster County Legislature,

the County’s funding of this Project constitutes a Type II action as defined under

Sections 4.5.6 of the County of Ulster’s State Environmental Quality Review Act

(SEQRA) Type II List, which was adopted pursuant to Resolution No. 118 dated

April 20, 2010; and, be it further 

 

 

RESOLVED, that Ulster County has determined that this funding action does

not pose a significant potential environmental impact and may be progressed as a

Type II action in accordance with 6 NYCRR Part 617 of SEQRA, and does not

require any further determination or procedure under SEQRA; and, be it further

RESOLVED, that Capital Project No. 475 - “Building a Better Ulster County”

Infrastructure Investment Program, Slope Analysis & Stabilization is hereby

established as follows:

and, be it further

 RESOLVED, that the 2016 Capital Fund Budget be amended as follows:
