Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, Richard A. Gerentine, and Deputy

Chairman Thomas J. Briggs offer the following:

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on

behalf of the Department of Finance; and

WHEREAS, the County has a significant investment in capital assets such as

land, buildings, machinery, equipment and infrastructure; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to ensure accurate reporting, accountability and

operational efficiencies in managing these assets; and

WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Finance has requested the County

Legislature adopt a written Capital Asset Policy, as amended, to provide policies and

procedures for managing such assets and to comply with General Accepted

Accounting Principals; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the County’s written Capital Asset Policy be adopted, as

amended, as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature,

and move its adoption.
