Legislator Tracey Bartels offers the following:

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 155, dated April 21, 2015, the Ulster

County Legislature delegated the authority to the Ulster & Delaware (U&D) Corridor

Advisory Committee to conduct a thorough examination and study regarding the

optimum economic feasibility of the U&D Corridor; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 155 of 2015, the U&D Corridor

Advisory Committee was authorized to retain the services of an independent

consultant to assist with the review and additional research to help determine the

most appropriate development of the U&D Corridor; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 155 of 2015, the U&D Corridor

Advisory Committee was to submit a written report of its findings to the Ulster

County Legislature no later than November 30, 2015; and

WHEREAS, the U&D Corridor Advisory Committee, following Ulster

County procurement procedures in an expedited fashion, successfully retained the

services of an independent and qualified consulting firm, Stone Consulting & Design,

P.C., to support the Committee; and

WHEREAS, the U&D Corridor Advisory Committee is meeting regularly

while Stone Consulting is in the process of evaluating over 100 documents provided

by the Committee, as well completing on site visits and meeting with the DEP; and

WHEREAS, Stone Consulting is expected to deliver a report to the U&D

Corridor Advisory Committee no later than November 29, 2015; and

WHEREAS, in order for the U&D Corridor Advisory Committee to

responsibly fulfill its charge, the reporting deadline must be extended to coordinate

with the appointment term of the Committee members; now, therefore be it,

 

RESOLVED, that the U&D Corridor Advisory Committee is hereby

authorized a thirty-one (31) day extension to December 31, 2015 to report its findings

to the Ulster County Legislature which shall set forth proposed next steps in the

process of carrying out Ulster County’s existing policy regarding the U&D Corridor,

or any amendments thereto,

and moves its adoption.
