Richard Parete and Legislators Archer, Donaldson, Roberts, and Ronk

Chairman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee Thomas J. Briggs

and Deputy Chairman Kenneth J. Ronk offer the following:

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the District Attorney; and

WHEREAS, the District Attorney’s Office was previously awarded a grant to

fund the purchase and installation of video/audio recording equipment; and

WHEREAS, eight police agencies (City of Kingston, Village of Ellenville,

Town of Marlborough, Town of New Paltz, Town of Saugerties, Town of

Shawangunk, Town of Ulster and the Ulster County Sheriff) have been identified for

installation of audio/video recording equipment by Linstar under the direction of the

District Attorney’s Office for the purpose of video recording statements of witnesses

and/or criminal suspects; and

WHEREAS, the District Attorney is requesting that the Chairman of the

Ulster County Legislature be authorized to execute agreements, and any amendments

thereto, between the County and the various municipalities; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby

authorized to execute agreements, and any amendments thereto, with the City of

Kingston, Village of Ellenville, Town of Marlborough, Town of New Paltz, Town of

Saugerties, Town of Shawangunk, and the Town of Ulster, in the form as filed with

the Clerk of the Legislature, or as modified with the approval of the County

Attorney;

and moves its adoption.
