Chairman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Thomas J. Briggs,

and Deputy Chairman Kenneth Ronk offer the following:

WHEREAS, the Rondout Valley Central School District (RVCSD) has

requested a Deputy Sheriff be assigned as a School Resource Officer (SRO) at

various locations within the District; and

 

WHEREAS, RVCSD will reimburse Ulster County 100% of the salary plus

benefits of the Deputy Sheriff assigned as the School Resource Officer; and

WHEREAS, the cost of salary plus benefits of the Deputy totals $71,416.17

and the County will invoice RVCSD for payment as per the contract; and

WHEREAS, the term of the agreement shall be September 1, 2014 through

June 30, 2015; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby

authorized to sign an agreement, and any amendments thereto, with the Rondout

Valley Central School District to provide a Deputy Sheriff to serve as a School

Resource Officer for the term September 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015, in the form

as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified with the

approval of the County Attorney and Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature,

 

and move its adoption.
