Chairman of the Public Works and Capital Projects Committee, Dean J. Fabiano, and

Deputy Chairman Peter M. Loughran offer the following:

WHEREAS, this Resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on

behalf of the Department of Public Works; and

WHEREAS, project expenditures in the amount of $305,000 for the

replacement of vehicles within the County fleet were approved in the 2014 – 2019

Capital Improvement Program; and

WHEREAS, these fleet acquisitions are needed to replace existing vehicles

because of extensive rust, corrosion and high mileage which does not make it cost

effective to repair them; and

WHEREAS, the following vehicles will be purchased as part of the proposed

Capital Project: (2) Dodge Caravans at a combined cost of $42,000.00 and (7) Ford

Fusions at a combined cost of $ 118,000.00 for the Department of Social Services;

(2) Ford Fusions at a combined cost of $34,000.00 for the Department of Health; (2)

Ford F-250 pickup trucks at a combined cost of $44,000.00, (1) Ford E350 pickup

truck at a cost of $26,000.00, (1) Ford F-150 pickup truck at a cost of $21,000.00 for

the Department of Public Works (Buildings and Grounds); and (1) Jeep Patriot at a

cost of $20,000.00 for the Department of Safety; and

WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Works requests that Capital Project

No. 404 be established and funded; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that Capital Project No. 404, Central Auto Vehicles, is hereby

established for the purchase of replacement of County vehicles; and, be it further

RESOLVED, that the 2014 Ulster County Capital Fund is hereby amended as

follows:
