Chairman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Thomas J. Briggs,

and Deputy Chairman Kenneth Ronk offer the following:

WHEREAS, the District Attorney has received a notice of award for a grant

from the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services for the Video

Recording of Statements Equipment Grant; and

WHEREAS, the funds from this grant will be used to acquire, distribute and

maintain video recording equipment for various local police departments to use to

record defendants’ statements; and

WHEREAS, this grant requires no County funds; and

WHEREAS, the District Attorney is requesting that the Chairman of the

Ulster County Legislature be authorized to execute an agreement (NYS # T494025),

and any amendments thereto, in the amount of $35,514.00 with the New York State

Division of Criminal Justice Services for the Video Recording of Statements

Equipment Grant; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby

authorized to execute an agreement (NYS # T494025), and any amendments thereto,

in the amount of $35,514.00 with the New York State Division of Criminal Justice

Services for the Video Recording of Statements Equipment Grant, in the form as

filed with the Clerk of the Legislature, or as modified with the approval of the

County Attorney; and, be it further

 RESOLVED, that the 2014 Ulster County Budget is hereby amended as

follows:
