Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Gina Hansut, and Deputy Chair Chris Hewitt offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Ulster County Department of Emergency Communications / Emergency Management; and

 

WHEREAS, the Director of Emergency Communications / Emergency Management requests that the Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature be authorized to enter into an agreement (C190963), and any amendments to the agreement, with the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services for the contract period from September 1, 2024 through August 31, 2027, in the amount of $230,463.00; and

 

WHEREAS, these funds are part of the FY24 State Homeland Security Program (SHSP); and

 

WHEREAS, this funding originates from the United States Department of Homeland Security and passes through New York State via the State Homeland Security Program; and

 

WHEREAS, the grant requires no matching funds from Ulster County; now, therefore be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute an agreement (NYS Contract # C190963), and any amendments thereto, with the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services for the State Homeland Security Program (SHSP) FY24, in the amount of $230,463.00, as filed with the Clerk of the Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney; and, be it further

 

 

 

RESOLVED, that the 2025 Ulster County Budget is hereby amended as follows;

and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, if funding for this program is eliminated, the Commissioner of Finance shall immediately upon discovery, send written notification to the Clerk of the Legislature, and the relevant Department Heads shall attend the next regular meeting of the Ways and Means Committee to assist the Committee in review and evaluation for determination of the programs continuance,

 

and moves its adoption.
