Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Gina Hansut, and Deputy Chair Chris Hewitt offer the following:

WHEREAS,thisresolutionhasbeensubmittedattherequestoftheUlster County Sheriff; and

WHEREAS, the Rondout Valley Central School District has requested two (2) Deputy Sheriff’s be assigned as School Resource Officers (SROs) at locations as requested by the District; and

WHEREAS, the Rondout Valley Central School District will pay Ulster County an amount not less than $228,556.00 for the services of the Deputy Sheriffs assigned as the School Resource Officer; and

WHEREAS, the term of the agreement shall be September 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to sign an agreement, and any amendments thereto, with the Rondout Valley Central School District to provide two Deputy Sheriffs to serve as School Resource Officers for the term September 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney,

and move its adoption.
