Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Gina Hansut, and Deputy Chair Chris Hewitt offer the following:

WHEREAS,thisresolutionhasbeensubmittedattherequestoftheUlster County Sheriff; and

WHEREAS, the Kingston City School District has requested a Deputy Sheriff be assigned as a School Resource Officer (SRO) at the Miller Middle School as requested by the District; and

 WHEREAS, the Kingston City School District will pay Ulster County an amount not less than $114,278.00 for the services of the Deputy Sheriff assigned as the School Resource Officer; and

WHEREAS, the term of the agreement shall be September 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026; now, therefore, be it

 RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to sign an agreement, and any amendments thereto, with the Kingston City School District to provide a Deputy Sheriff to serve as a School Resource Officer for the term September 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney,

and move its adoption.
