Chairwoman of the Economic Development, Planning, Education, Employment, Arts and Agriculture Committee, Megan Sperry, and Deputy Chair Herbert Litts, III offer the following:

 

     WHEREAS, established in 1961, the Kingston-Ulster Airport is a privately-owned, public-use airport located in the Town of Ulster; and

 

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Legislature has received a request from Kingston-Ulster Airport, LLC for a Resolution in support of their application for New York State Transportation Grant funding for the construction of a T-Hanger Building for customer use at the airport; and

 

WHEREAS, the proposed project includes the design, bidding, and construction including foundations, concrete slab floor, roof, and electric service/utility connections of a 6-8 bay stacked T-Hangar building with 47.5-foot wide by 14-foot high doors; and

 

WHEREAS, the proposed building will provide covered storage for aircraft currently parked outside on the existing apron; and

 

          WHEREAS, the New York State Department of Transportation, under Article II, Section 14-L of the NYS Transportation Law, requires that project applications made by privately owned airports be accompanied by a resolution from the governing body of the County in which the airport is located formally endorsing the project; now, therefore be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Ulster County Legislature hereby endorses the T-Hangar construction project described above and supports Kingston-Ulster Airport, LLC’s application for NYS Transportation Grant funding,

 

and move its adoption.
