Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Gina Hansut, Deputy Chair Chris Hewitt, and Legislator Lopez offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on behalf of the Ulster County Department of Emergency Communications/Emergency Management; and

 

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Department of Emergency Communications/Emergency Management, Division of Fire Services, under New York State General Municipal Law 225-a Sub 3, administers a County Fire Training Program; and

 

WHEREAS, the geographical area of Ulster County is 1,161 miles and covered by 48 fire agencies; and

 

WHEREAS, ongoing training is critical to ensuring the readiness, safety, and effectiveness of volunteer firefighters serving Ulster County; and

 

WHEREAS, Ulster County Department of Emergency Communications/ Emergency Management, Division of Fire Services does utilize the training facilities of the Walker Valley Engine Company No. 1 to provide additional training in the more remote areas of Ulster County; and

 

WHEREAS, this agreement will facilitate fire training services in the more remote areas of Ulster County by utilizing the training facilities of the Walker Valley Engine Company No. 1; and

 

WHEREAS, this agreement represents a collaborative effort between Ulster County Department of Emergency Communications/Emergency Management and local fire agencies to enhance public safety and emergency response capabilities; and

 

WHEREAS, the Walker Valley Engine Company No. 1, will receive payment not to exceed $10,000.00, in accordance with the terms of the agreement; now therefore, be it    

 

 

RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to sign an agreement and any amendments thereto, with the Walker Valley Fire Engine Company No. 1, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney,                  

 

and moves its adoption.
