Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Gina Hansut, and Deputy Chair Chris Hewitt offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Ulster County Department Of Emergency Communications/Emergency Management; and

 

WHEREAS, the purpose of this memorandum is to establish a management agreement between the County of Ulster hereinafter referred to as the Collaborative Operating Group (COG), and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS) Program regarding the utilization and security of County of Ulster Interoperable System(s), which interoperate with the IPAWS-Open Platform for Emergency Networks (IPAWS-OPEN). The expected benefit is to enable information interoperability across emergency response organizations and systems as intended by the FEMA IPAWS Program; and

 

WHEREAS, this agreement will govern the relationship between the Collaborative Operating Group and FEMA; now, therefore be it

                   

RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute an agreement, and any amendments thereto, with the FEMA IPAWS Program Management Office with the Department of Emergency Services, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature, or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney,             

 

and moves its adoption.
