Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Gina Hansut, Deputy Chair Chris Hewitt, and Legislators Deborah Clinton and Jason J. Kovacs offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on behalf of the Ulster County Department Of Emergency Communications/Emergency Management; and

 

WHEREAS, Resolution No. 55of February 18, 2025authorized the Ulster County Department of Emergency Services to obtain an EMS Operating Certificate from the New York State Department of Health, Division of State Emergency Medical Services (DoSEMS) under NYS Public Health Law 3008(7); and

 

WHEREAS, NYS Public Health Law section 3008(7) permits a County, through its legislative body, to adopt and amend local laws, ordinances or resolutions to establish and operate advanced life support first responder services or municipal ambulance services within the municipality (directly or by contract); and

 

WHEREAS, the County of Ulster and the Town of Gardiner intend to sign an intermunicipal agreement for the County to provide supplemental Emergency Medical Services to the Town of Gardiner; and

 

WHEREAS, the Town of Gardiner will pay the County of Ulster $55,000.00 for the cost of readiness; now, therefore be it                     

 

RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute an intermunicipal agreement, and any amendments thereto, with the Town of Gardiner, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature, or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney; and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, that the 2025 Operating Budget is hereby amended as follows:
