Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, John Gavaris, and Deputy Chair Kevin A. Roberts offer the following:
WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Finance; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 1442 of the New York State Real Property Tax Law, Ulster County may provide for the collection of delinquent village taxes, if such collection is requested by resolution of the board of trustees of any village within such county; and
WHEREAS, Local Law No. 5 of 2022 authorizes the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature to enter into agreements with the Villages of Ellenville, New Paltz, and Saugerties relating to the collection of delinquent taxes on real property following the submission of such request from the board of trustees; and
WHEREAS, on October 11, 2023, the Village of Ellenville Board of Trustees authorized the Mayor of Ellenville to enter into an agreement with the Ulster County Commissioner of Finance to provide for the collection of such delinquent taxes pursuant to Local Law No. 5 of 2022; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with the Village of Ellenville, relative to the collection of delinquent village taxes pursuant to Local Law No. 5 of 2022,
and move its adoption.
