Chairwoman of the Economic Development, Planning, Education, Employment, Arts and Agriculture Committee, Megan Sperry, offers the following:

 

WHEREAS, Resolution No. 472, adopted on September 17, 2024 and signed by the County Executive on September 27, 2024, designated the Ulster County Department of Tourism as the official tourism promotion agency for Ulster County to coincide with the New York State 2025 Fiscal Year beginning on April 1, 2024 and ending on March 31, 2025; and

 

WHEREAS, the New York State Legislature has appropriated funds to be available to tourism promotion agencies in New York State for advertising and promoting tourism; and

 

WHEREAS, Ulster County wishes to apply for matching tourism promotion funds; and

 

WHEREAS, designation as the official tourism promotion agency of Ulster County for the entire calendar year will allow the Department of Tourism to apply for and receive matching funds on behalf of the County for calendar year 2025; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Ulster County Legislature hereby designates the Ulster County Department of Tourism as the official tourism promotion agency for Ulster County, thereby making it eligible to apply for and accept matching tourism promotion funds on behalf of Ulster County during calendar year 2025, and to represent Ulster County for the promotion of Tourism,

 

and move its adoption.
